Interview with Kirk Shearer

OSC: What City/State are you in?

Kirk: I’m staying in Redlands, CA. It’s cool out here, good vibes, plenty of local business, and plenty of school spots to shred!

OSC: We heard you were in a bad fall, are you o.k.?

Kirk: Yea, I’m alive and mobile so I’m pshyched!! That’s really what it came down to, and I’m so thankful for all the good people I have in my life that ask me what’s up, and are into the fact that i’m still alive too haha:P Thank you Larry!

OSC: Who were you with?

Kirk: I was with Rondog, and Joey, they’re local Weekend Cretins and they shred, cool guys:)

OSC: where were you at & what Happened?

Kirk: So we all went to the top of Yucaipa to hillbomb the length of the city, and Yucaipa is super steep, and long… , It’s just a huuuge hill. I honestly could’nt tell you why I wrecked but I did romp over a half-curb deal turning into a parking lot going about 50mph +.
I’m lucky for Rondog and Joe calling my phone afterwards, a man heard my phone ringing in my pocket while I was lying on my back in a decent sized pool of blood around my head. Motionless. Ambulances then arrived and I told them to get their Un-American hands off of me and to let me go, from what Ron and Joe say, I was completely fliipin out screaming, “IM AMERICAN!!!!!!! GET YOUR DIRTY HANDS OFF OF ME!!!!!!!!!” like I was being captrured or something. And I was definately yelling about my food in the hospital.

6 inches of torn scalp, and about a 2-inch fracture in the skull, definately lucky, at least I feel like I am, I mean, of course I could of avoided this entirely lol.

OSC: How long you out for?

Kirk: Doc says a couple of months, i’m thinking so too, I don’t wanna mess with any migrane issues.

OSC: What are you going to be wrestling in the mean time?

Kirk: My girlfriend and THEWEEKENDCRETINS DVD!! I just picked up a doodoo camera to feed tapes to my computer with and about 63 MINI DV tapes to upload for it that strictly include bmx and shenanigans, hahaha so pshyched!!!!! Every rider in it is so pshyched for it. Yeah 63 tapes and 4 years is about time, The Weekend Cretins are a bunch of locals who do nothing but party on and off the bike and are heroes of towns nobody cares about haha! We all have the most fun

OSC: What are your plans when you get back on your bike?

Kirk: Just wear a helmet and drop hammers for ODI, and definately get things going for 2012 with ODI, alot of great opportunities this year and I’m super pshyched to shred with the team guys, great vibes! When we get a group going it’s like no other feeling, every spot pretty much gets DESTROYED by everybody, and everybody has spots. What you would try and anticipate is unimaginable!
yeah that and WHAAAAAAT!< Larry is a god at bmx filming, super pshyched to film with someone who can hold a camera, have a good time and shred some redic spots too! Hyped!

OSC: I hope you get better soon dude. We wish you the best of luck & keep rockin'.

Kirk: Thanks alot it really encourages me to get my quality of life back up to par. And I CAN NOT WAIT!! To ride! I'm going to build a new wheelset for myself as a get well present and I'll post a bike check, and also get a helmet haha.

Adam,Alex,Devin,Mike,Stijn aka Constantine and myself
hit the rode from LBC early friday the 13th to Salt Lake City, Utah. After the 10 hour drive we made it safely to our homie Tate Roskelley
house. We start our trip venturing with Tate threw the streets. Eventually meeting up with local street boss legends. Shawn” Elf” Walters,
Mikey Aitken and Cameron wood.  The spot’s Salt City had to offer were incredible in my opinion, also not to mention how humble everybody was.
We would head out some nights and hangout downtown enjoying the nightlife with the locals. Grabbing a slice and indulging in beverage’s. In the first couple of days
I was hooked. It felt like I visited SLC before and known everyone, it just gave me that vibe. I wanna give a big thanks to Tate and Kristy for a warm
welcome and hospitality. Definitely want to come back! Here are some flicks from my trip.
